September 11, 2006 — Draft Traffic Impact Analysis Regulations are Available for Comment

Draft traffic impact analysis regulations intended to improve coordination between land-use and transportation planning throughout Virginia are available for public comment, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announced today.

September 8, 2006 — Governor Kaine Appoints David Ekern to Serve as VDOT Commissioner

Governor Timothy M. Kaine announced on September 8th the appointment of David S. Ekern to serve as the next Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). Ekern, currently of Eagle, Idaho, is a transportation professional with senior level experience and a national reputation for innovation and planning. Ekern has served as the Assistant Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Transportation, and as the Director of the Idaho Transportation Department.
